Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, is located at an altitude of more than 1.6 km. The city is built on the ruins of Tenochtitlan, the ancient Aztec capital. Reminders of past civilization pervade the city, particularly at the Templo Mayor excavation. Templo Mayor is known as the main temple of the Aztecs. Results of recent excavations have lead to more and more interesting artifacts in the temple. Another place of great historical relevance that is located in Mexico City is Teotihuacan. This ancient city is estimated to have been populated by 150 BC. The Aztecs believed that Teotihuacan was a place where the sun, moon and the universe were created. If you visit the site, you can climb both the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon.

Chapultepec Park is a great place to visit if you want to encounter a variety of activities to enjoy. Located within this beautiful park are many great museums, including the Museum of Anthropology.
