Clubs soon sprung up all around the country, from the elegant Club los Leones and Prince of Wales Country Club, both in Santiago, to the Magallanes Country Club in Punta Areanas, the southernmost golf course in the world. All in all there are a little more than 60 golf courses in Chile, almost all of them private. In order to play most of these courses, you must be a registered guest at one of the several hotels which offer golf to their customers.

Public courses include Golf Mapocho just outside Santiago; Marbella Resort at the coast near Maitencillo with ocean views; La Serena Golf, also a coastal resort but farther away from Santiago than Marbella, but with a better and more beautiful course.
