Holiday villas and apartments are plentiful in Spain and can be found in all price categories, depending on location, size and facilities. Today good bargains can be made if you take the time to investigate the options, this is especially he case at many seaside destinations and if you can avoid the high season from mid July to end of August.

Beach Holiday Homes 

A self catering holiday is a great way to get a little more feel for what Spain is all about. Staying in a holiday villa or apartment gives you much more freedom than staying at a hotel, especially if you bring children. Shopping is exciting, you get to know about local prices and produces, the most challenging is to shop at the local markets, but even shopping at the supermarkets is great fun. 

Costa del Sol is located in Southern Spain. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain, not only because of the very nice weather, with lots of sunshine and little rain, but also because of all the facilities available for tourists, and interesting tourist attractions not far from the coast, like for instance: Seville, Cordoba , Granada , Ronda, all of them destinations within reach for one day trips.

There are also many well known cities along the coast, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Estephona, Torremolinos, Fuengirolla, Mijas, to name a few. Some of the places are very luxurious and expensive, others are much more affordable, but most places are very pleasant for a holiday or a longer term stay.

Costa del Sol Villas

The Costa Blanca or the White Coast extends along the eastern coast of Spain, and covers the coastline of the province Alicante. Costa Blanca starts to the north at Denia, and ends to the south at Torrevieja. Alicante, the main city in the area, can be found almost in the middle. There is an international airport in Alicante that connects to most major cities in Europe. To the north of Costa Blanca is Valencia airport , and to the south Murcia airport . Both these airports also have connections to other European airports, and are convenient for visits to Costa Blanca.

Self catering villas on Costa Blanca and and the surroundings are available with many different facilities, like swimming pool and air conditioning, and includes houses  in different sizes and price levels to match most budgets. Self catering farmhouses and cottages in the more rural areas of Costa Blanca are also very popular at any time of the year.

Costa Blanca Villas

Costa Brava, meaning Wild Coast, is a 160 kilometres stretch of beautiful, rugged coastline in the region Catelonia in  the northeast corner of Spain. Its natural beauty, endless miles of sandy beaches and summer sunshine made it an obvious target for the tour operators when the package holiday industry took off in the 1960s, and Costa Brava was one of the first recognized tourist destinations of Spain. Today you will find modern, international tourist resorts with high-rise hotels alongside unspoiled fishing villages and medieval towns with ancient castles. Costa Brava stretches from Blanes, north of Barcelona , to Rose near the French border.

The Costa de la Luz, which means the coast of light, is a section of the Andalusian coast, stretching 300 kilometers of coastline facing the Atlantic Ocean. Costa de la Luz has for many years been a popular destination for vacationing Spaniards, and in recent years Costa de la Luz  has become more popular with foreign visitors, especially the French and the Germans. The beaches are some of the best in Spain, but apart from the beaches and the sunshine, there are ample opportunities and facilities for leisure activities like fine dining, golf, kite surfing, boating and other water sports.

Costa de la Luz Villas

Costa Verde (the Green Cost) is the name of a major part of the northern coast of Spain, facing the Bay of Biscay. Together with Costa Vasca it stretches from the border of France and all the way west to Galicia, and forms the coast line of the Basque Country, Cantabria and Asturias. The climate is strongly influenced by the Atlantic Sea and the Bay of Biscay, in the summer the weather is usually nice, sunny and warm, but you can get rainy periods. In the winter it is often wet, but still quite mild.

A well visited place among the Spaniards is Santander , the capital city of Cantabria. The city is overlooking the Bay of Biscay, has wounderfull beaches, and a lot of facilities for tourists. There are many very good restaurants, not only in Santander, but all along the coast, and the sea food you can get is among the best in the world.
